The Five Things You Need To Know Today (November 4)

1. Mohammed Morsi’s Trial Begins- Former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi’s trail begins today. Morsi is accused of inciting violence during his presidency. Morsi will be tried along with 14 other members of the Muslim Brotherhood. He could face the death penalty if found guilty.

2. NYC Marathon Held- After not being held last year due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy the NYC Marathon was run by over 50,000 people yesterday. Kenyans Geoffrey Mutai and Priscah Jeptoo came in first for the men and women.

3. Google To Invest $608 Million- Google will invest $608 million to upgrade their Finnish data center in order to expand it’s European services. The investment will employ over 800 engineering and construction workers.

4. Michael Kors Has First Ever Instagram Advertisement- US fashion label Michael Kors has become the first brand to advertise on Instagram. Burberry will follow suit in the coming weeks The advertisement has been liked so far by 229,000 people.

5. YouTube Music Awards Awarded- The first ever YouTube Music Awards went down last night, giving awards in six categories. Hosted by actor Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts, Eminem won artist of the year and Girls Generation won video of the year for “I Got A Boy.”
