1. United States Gains Jobs- The latest job report shows a growth of 148,000 jobs shrinking the unemployment rate from 7.3 percent to 7.2 percent Businesses added 126,000 jobs while federal, state and local governments added 22,000 jobs.

2. School Shooting Leaves Teacher Dead- A Nevada student took the life of himself, a teacher and wounding two other students as gunfire rang out at Sparks Middle School. Former serviceman Michael Landsberry shielded the two students as he tried to stop the rampage.

3. Nokia Unveils Tablet- Nokia has unveiled their first tablet called “Lumia 2520.” The tablet has a 10 inch screen and will run Windows RT. The tablet will cost $499.

4. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Are Engaged- On Kim Kardashian’s 33rd birthday yesterday, Kanye West proposed to her by flashing “PLEASE MARRY ME” on the big screen at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

5. YouTube Award Nominees Announced- Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, One Direction, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Miley Cyrus will battle over the top honors at the YouTube Music Awards this year. The awards show is set for November 3 and M.I.A., Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, the Creator have been added as performers.
