The Five Things You Need To Know Today (October 21)

1. Same Sex Marriages Begin In NJ Today- Starting at midnight, October 21, same sex marriages began in the state of New Jersey. Former Newark Mayor, newly elected Senator Cory Booker began the festivities by officiating the first same-sex marriage in Newark.

2. Five Killed in Pakistani Bombing- A bomb detonated and derailed a Pakistani train Monday, killing five passengers and wounding fifteen. The train exploded in the western Baluchistan province. There is no word on who is responsible for the bombing yet, as the territory is home to multiple terrorist organizations.

3. Apple To Unveil New iPads- Apple is set to unveil their new line of iPads Tuesday that will include a new high definition iPad mini and thinner iPad. The iPads will cost less and will include “snazzier features.”

4. Carol Burnett Receive Mark Twain Award For Comedy- Comedy TV superstar Carol Burnett was awarded the Mark Twain Award for Comedy last night. Julie Andrews, Tony Bennett and Tina Fey were among those who performed in her honor.

5. World Series Set- Beginning this Wednesday, the MLB World Series will pit the Boston Red Sox against the St. Louis Cardinals.
