1. Egyptian Court Bans Muslim Brotherhood- An Egyptian court has banned the Muslim Brotherhood, and has ordered all Brotherhood material’s to be confiscated. The ruling came up as courts were determining the Brotherhood’s status as a nongovernmental organization.

2. Hassan Rouhani To Speak At UN- Iranian president Hassan Rouhani’s expected speech at the UN General Assembly looks to be actually anticipated by the general population as it looks to place a conciliatory tone on Iranian-US weapons talks. Western diplomats predicts will the speech will be an important gesture towards better relations toward the United States and Iran.

3. Apple Sells 9 Million iPhones- Apple sold 9 million iPhone 5C and 5S’ a new record for the technology company. Shares of Apple jumped 5.3 percent to $491.95 on the trading Monday.

4. Emmy Winners Announced- The 2013 Emmy Awards were held last night. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, Breaking Bad brought home the award for “Best Drama” and Modern Family won “Best Comedy.” There was also a Tina Fey nip slip.

5. Mumford & Sons Taking Break- UK rock group Mumford & Sons has decided to take a hiatus from touring and recording albums. The group is fresh off a new album and a couple of years of touring. There is no word yet on when they’ll do anything musically related in the future.
