The Five Things You Need To Know Today (August 2)

1. Ariel Castro Sentenced To Life In Prison- The Cleveland kidnapper, Ariel Castro was sentenced to life in prison plus 1,000 years without the possibility of parole. The sentence was the result of plea deal between Castro and the prosecution to avoid the death penalty.

2. Uruguay Approves Marijuana Law- Uruguay will soon make the consumption, production and sale of Marijuana completely legal. The bill has passed the lower house of government and observers see no issue in the bill passing in the senate.

3. Fabrice Tourre Found Liable For Fraud- A federal jury found former Goldman Sachs employee Fabrice Tourre liable for defrauding investors that exploded during the financial crisis. A penalty for Mr. Tourre has no yet been discussed.

4. Google Bringing Wi-Fi To Starbucks- Google will soon bring faster Wi-Fi to over 7,000 Starbucks stores. The networks will be 10 times faster than the current AT&T Wi-Fi networks.

5. Avatar Will Get Three Sequels- Fox Studios announced yesterday that the science fiction blockbuster Avatar will get three sequels. All the films will be filmed at the same time.
