I can’t believe we’re here. It’s August 1st. Summer goes by so quickly. It only felt yesterday that people were yelling and screaming about how it was raining every single day in the metropolitan area. Now, we have reach a nice temperate climate where the humidity is low and the sun is shining. There are only four more weekends left and while relaxing may be, well, relaxing, there are TONS of activities you can still do.
Here are five things you should do before the summer ends.
1. Eat ice cream
Now you can eat ice cream anytime during the year, but there is no more pleasurable experience then eating an ice cream cone and walking around town or a city. It’s always challenge to keep your cone clean as the ice cream melts. And sometimes, eating ice cream outside during the winter just doesn’t work.
2. Watch a movie outside
The movie theater is a welcome escape from the sweltering heat during the day, but why sacrifice the nice weather outside during the evening. Free, outdoor movies have become super-popular in recent years Where else can you watch Woody Allen’s Manhattan, right in the middle of MANHATTAN! Check out MySocialList.com‘s list of free outdoor movies in NYC.
3. Go To Fette Sau
Here’s the deal, BBQ is clearly the new “hot cuisine” in NYC. Here’ show Fette Sau works. You go to WIlliamsburg, stand outside an abandoned car garage in a 30 minute line. While on line you can sip a bevvy of delicious whiskey or tasty beer from an exhaustive beer menu. The meat is only served by the pound and on a cafeteria tray. The briscut is succulent, the ribs fall off the bone and short ribs are fatty as can be. You can also eat outside. In my opinion, the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Check out their website here.
4. Go To An Outdoor Concert
Their might not be a ton of outdoor concert events in NYC, but a lot of them are actually free. There is no excuse NOT to check out a show at SummerStage or a show at Williamsburg Park. You can see concerts on a boat! Here is a complete list of outdoor concerts.
5. Spend A Day At The Beach
Remember, you only have four weekends left.
