The Five Things You Need To Know Today (June 18)

1. Supreme Court Blocks Arizona Voter Registration Law- In a 7-2 decision, the Supreme Court of the United States has blocked an Arizona cannot require citizens to prove their citizenship when registering to vote. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented in the court’s majority opinion.

2. Rain Ravages North India- In a torrential rain storm in Northern India, 73 people were killed while 73,000 people remained stranded in Himachal and Uttarakhand.

3. Yahoo Reveals US Government Requests For Data- As tech giants step forward announcing the United States government request of data, Yahoo! said that the government requested data for 13,000 users. The NSA made inquires into nine Internet giants including, Google, Facebook, Yahoo! and Apple.

4. NYC To Install Free Cell Phone Charging Stations-  Soon their will be no more excuses like “my phone died” in New York City as NYC will begin installing solar powered cell phone charging stations next week. The devices will be called “Street Charge” and can be attached to any street sign.
