The Five Things You Need To Know Today (May 13)

1. Tragedy Strikes New Orleans Parade- Police are seeking out three suspects after 19 people including two children were shot while watching a Mother’s Day parade. No one has been killed, but two victims are currently going under surgery.

2. Bangladesh Ends Search For Collapse Victims- Bangladeshi authorities have ended the search for collapse victims after the April 24th collapse of a garment factory. The final death toll is 1,127.

3. Google Kill SMS Search- Google usually goes through a season of spring cleaning of its lesser used products and this season isn’t any different. As of last Friday, Google has shut down SMS Search. Users were able to text a search query to “466453” and receive results.

4. Barbara Walters Announces Retirement- Barbara Walters announced her retirement from The View today. She has been on the show she co-created since 1997. 

5. Tiger Woods Wins The Players Championship- After Sergio Garcia choked the lead away by shooting two balls in the water, Tiger Woods took home the Players Championship. Woods 13 under for the weekend and won $1.7 million.
