Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

Go See Iron Man 3– The Iron Man trilogy comes to an end (for the time being), with Iron Man 3, coming out today. I actually have never seen any of the Iron Man films, but I’ve heard they are all very good. The third film is supposedly no different.

Check out some events from the Red Bull Music Academy- The Red Bull Music Academy is a month long Red Bull sponsored event in New York City from April 28-May 31. Their are concerts, talks, art exhibitions and experimental art pieces. Highlights of this weekends events include Flying Lotus at Terminal 5, DJ/Rupture at the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair and a Brian Eno art exhibit. For the full schedule of events click here.

Go to the 5 Pointz Aerosol Art Center- Graffiti may be illegal, but it is a very exciting art form. From this Saturday (May 4) until September 14th, the 5 Pointz Aerosol Art Center in Queens will be hosting “Summer 2013: Celebrating 40 years of Hip-Hop. For more information click here.

Go to the Ideas City Festival- The Ideas City Festival is biennial festival that includes free workshops, street activities and conferences. This year’s theme is “Untapped Resources” featuring how to utilize New York City’s under used resources. Did I mention everything is free? For more information, click here.

Celebrate MCA Day 2013- To honor the life of recently departed Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, the Littlefield Art space will be holding an all-day festival that includes music and commemorative art. For more information click here.
